Print a quiz in myCourses

Instructors can print a quiz for students to complete offline/on paper. Printed quizzes support all quiz question types, shuffling and randomization options, and question pools.

Instructors can generate up to ten versions of a quiz along with the respective answer keys.  

Print a quiz for students to complete offline/on paper

  1. Click Quizzes

  2. From the Manage Quizzes page, click the drop-down next to the quiz name and select Print.

  1. From the Print Quiz page, choose the number of versions you would like to generate. If you select multiple versions, the page will update and display multiple tabs (e.g. Version A, Version B, Version C…) Click each Version tab to review how the questions were randomized. Note: You can click New Version to regenerate another version.

  1. To include fields for students to fill in, set your formatting preferences by selecting a Name field, Student ID field, and a Date field.

  2. Click the Print or Print Version [letter] button to print a quiz. Click Print. Note: If you wish to save a copy of a quiz as a PDF, select Save to PDF in the Destination field.

Use an answer key for grading a printed quiz

You can use the answer key provided for each quiz version to easily grade printed quizzes.

  1. Click Quizzes

  2. From the Manage Quizzes page, click the drop-down next to the quiz name and select Print.

  3. From the Print Quiz page, select the “Show correct answers” checkbox.

  4. Choose the version tab for the version of the quiz you would like to grade.

  5. Click the Print or Print Version [letter] button to print the quiz with the answer key. Note: There will be an answer key for each version of the quiz. If you wish to save a PDF copy of a quiz with the answer key, select Save to PDF in the Destination field. Click Print or Save.
