Preview Quizzes, Surveys and Self Assessments in myCourses
This article shows instructions for Quizzes however, these instructions also apply to Surveys and Self Assessments.
The Preview page within the Quizzes tool allows you to test the quiz to see exactly what students will see before releasing it to them. In a quiz preview, you can answer the questions, view allowed hints, submit the quiz, view the Submissions page (with graded answers if auto-grading is turned on), and view report results.
Preview a quiz
On the main Quizzes page, click on the arrow icon beside the name of the quiz and click Preview.
If you want to view the quiz with user restrictions turned on, deselect the checkbox beside Bypass Restrictions at the top of the Summary page. You may want to do this to make sure the restrictions you set for your students are working properly.
Click Start Quiz! Click OK in the Confirmation pop-up box.
Answer the questions you want to test.
Click Submit Quiz to save all your responses.
Select the checkbox beside Allow this preview attempt to be graded in the Grade Quiz area if you want to test the grading for your quiz.
Click Submit Quiz.
The Quiz Submissions page will open for reviewing purposes. Click Done.
You can click the Exit Preview button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen at any time to exit the preview and return to the main Quizzes page.
Preview a question
The question Preview window allows you to view how students will see an individual question along with the hints and feedback you have associated with that question. If the quiz question appears in more than one location in your course, the preview page also displays a list of places where the question is being used.
On the main Quizzes page, click the name of the quiz.
Click the name of the question to bring up a pop-up window that displays what the question will look like, the correct response, feedback for correct or incorrect responses, comments, hints, and any additional locations the question appears in your course.
