Grade using Quick Eval tool in myCourses
Quick Eval is a tool in myCourses that provides a dashboard-like view of all assessments in a course. Use Quick Eval to view all outstanding quizzes and assignments in your classes, including data concerning the number of submissions, the number of submissions evaluated, and the feedback published.
Quick Eval will also soon be available in the Tools menu of the myCourses My Home page. You will be able to evaluate all activities that have been submitted across all classes you are currently teaching. This allows for a global view of all assignments, quizzes, and other outstanding activities that need to be evaluated.

Enable Quick Eval
By default, Quick Eval is enabled in all courses in myCourses. To use Quick Eval in a course, you can access it through Course Admin or add it to the course Navigation Bar.
To add Quick Eval to the Navigation Bar:
Hover over your Navigation Bar and an ellipses icon will appear at the top-right. Click this icon and then select Edit This Navbar.
Under the Links heading, select Add Links. Find Quick Eval in the list of links or use the search function.
Select the checkbox beside Quick Eval and then click Add. Quick Eval will be added to your Navigation Bar.
Dashboard views
The Quick Eval dashboard provides two different views: Submissions and Activities.
Submissions view
The Submissions view includes three columns:
First Name, Last Name: contains a default avatar (or student image, if uploaded), student name, and an icon that denotes the status of a submission.
Activity Name: contains icons specific to a myCourses activity (e.g., a quiz or assignment) and the name of the assessment.
Submission Date: indicates the date and time of a submission.
Select the heading of each column to sort the information presented. The first select will sort by ascending (A-Z alphabetical for First Name, Last Name, and Activity Name; oldest to newest submission for Submission Date), and the second select will sort in descending order for the column.
Activities view
The Activities view displays all activities in the course. This view includes:
Activity icon (assignment, quiz).
Activity name and percentage weight (if indicated).
Activity due date.
If there are new submissions since your last visit to the Quick Eval dashboard, an indicator will appear beside an activity describing the number of new posts or submissions received:
Each activity will also have visual representations of activity statistics:
Completed: the number of submissions completed and received for the activity
Evaluated: the number of items evaluated for the activity (draft feedback saved but not published)
Published: the number of feedback items for the activity published
Filters and search
The Submissions and Activities views have filter and search functions available so you can locate a specific submission to be evaluated or narrow down the activities or submissions listed, based on time period or assignment. To search all activities, use the Search field beside the Field button.
To use a filter:
Select the Filter button in the top-right of the Submissions or Activities view. A drop-down menu will appear. You can then select one of two filters: Activity Name or Date.
Activity Name allows you to view a specific activity. You can also find a specific activity by using the Search by Activity Name field.
Date allows you to filter based on date. You can also search for a specific date by using the Search by Date field.
Submissions and evaluations
You can grade submissions using both the Submissions and the Activities view. When selecting an activity (e.g., quiz, assignment) to be evaluated, you will be brought to the respective evaluation screen that you would normally see by accessing each tool separately in myCourses.
Grade in submissions view
In the Submissions view, select a student name beside the relevant activity. This will bring you to the submission view page for that particular student and activity.
When in the evaluation screen for an individual submission, you can return to Quick Eval by clicking the Back to Quick Eval button in the top-left corner.
Grade in activities view
In the Activities view, hover over the activity to be graded. This will replace the statistics with menu options for assessment.
Select Evaluate All to evaluate submissions for the respective activity. This will bring you to the submission page in the activity to be assessed.
Select Submissions List to view a list of all submissions for an activity.
Select More Actions to publish all assessed submissions or to dismiss activity notifications.
When in the evaluation screen for an individual submission, you can return to Quick Eval by clicking the Back to Quick Eval button in the top-left corner. You can also navigate among the assessments to be evaluated by using the arrow buttons in the top-right corner.
