Final grades released in myCourses using this method are not official. Official final grades must be submitted to Minerva using the following method:
About Final Calculated, Final Adjusted and Official grades
The Final Calculated Grade and Final Adjusted Grade items (columns) are automatically created for all courses and cannot be deleted. These columns will not be visible to students until you release them manually.
Checkboxes in the Released column, beside each grade, indicate whether you have released the grade or not.
For each student, the Final Calculated Grade is calculated based on the sum of the scores on all grade items. You can transfer these automatically calculated grades into the Final Adjusted Grade column to adjust students’ final grades before releasing them.
Verify your grade settings
On the Enter Grades page, click Settings in the top right corner of the screen.
On the Org Unit Display Options tab under Grade Details, make sure Grade scheme symbol is selected.
On the Calculation Options tab, make sure Adjusted Final Grade and Automatically keep final grades updated are selected.
Click Save.
Release final grades
On the Enter Grades page, click the arrow beside Final Adjusted Grade and select Enter Grades. This will take you to the Final Grades page.
If your Final Adjusted Grade column is blank, click the arrow at the top of the page beside Final Grades and select Transfer All; this will transfer the Final Calculated Grades into the Final Adjusted Grade column.
In the Confirmation pop-up window that appears, click Yes.
(Optional) If you need to adjust any final grades, you can do the following:
Click the calculator icon to exclude one or more grade items from a student’s final grade calculation.
Enter a new grade in the first (numerator) column under Final Adjusted Grade.

In the pop-up window that appears, click Yes.
Final Grades will appear to students at the top of their Grades page.
Unrelease final grades
Grades must be unreleased for all pages of students on the Final Grades page.
On the Final Grades page, select 200 from the per page drop-down list in the bottom-right corner of the list to show the maximum number of students on the page.
Select the checkbox at the top-left corner of the list to select all students on the page.
Click Release/Unrelease at the top of the list.
If you have more than 200 students, go to the next page of students, and repeat until all pages are unreleased.
