Modify Polling @ McGill settings with Vevox
Vevox, McGill’s polling tool, allows you to adjust several settings.
Access the Vevox session settings
Select the session you want to modify and click on the
(three-dot) button and select Settings.
Session setup
Session name: Name the Vevox session.
Scheduled date, start time, and timezone: Indicate date and time the session will open.
Profanity filter: Enable or disable the profanity filter for this session.
Polls
Display real-time results: Turn on to display real-time poll results, and dynamically update the results as votes are received.
Display result on poll close: Automatically display poll results when the poll closes.
Voting results: Select the display format of voting results.
Enable countdown music timer: Select the music that plays during the countdown timer.
Automatic countdown timer: Automatically start the countdown timer when the polls are started.
Speed scoring: Participants are ranked according to how quickly they provide the correct answer.
Poll settings apply to all polls that use the default settings. Existing polls with custom settings are not affected.
Q&A settings
Q&A message board: Toggle the Q&A feature on or off, or pause it temporarily.
Moderation: Toggle moderation on or off.
Downvotes: Toggle on the ability of participants to downvote a question as well as upvote them.
App customization
Home Screen: Select an image to display on the welcome screen when participants join the session.
Content: Customize the message displayed on the welcome screen.
App colors: Select the primary and secondary app colours. These Customize the look and feel of the Vevox app, which is the interface students will use to interact with your Vevox session.
Present view
Logo: Choose a logo for your session.
Theme: Change the background color or image of your event.
Preset: Select from a list of preset themes.
Custom: Select your own background image and colour, and a highlight colour.
Join instruction text colour: Toggle between dark or light text.
Additional settings:
Show join instructions: Select whether or not join instructions are displayed during the session.
Show QR code: Select whether or not a QR code link is displayed during the session.
Show response count: Select whether or not the number of responses to polls are visible.
Sharing
Session access:
Add co-hosts to this session: Enter the email address of individuals you would like to add as co-hosts.
Owner: Displays the creator of the session.
Shared with: Lists each co-host.
You can add as many co-hosts to a session as you like.
Co-hosts have complete access to the session and its content, including the ability to delete the session entirely.
You may remove a co-host at any time by returning to the Share access section and clicking the X button next to their name.
