Add hints and feedback to questions in myCourses
In the New Question or Add/Edit Questions page, you can enter generic feedback and hints for questions that will appear to all students during or after a quiz, self assessment or survey.
Although hints aren't available for surveys, if you provide Instant Feedback for a question, it appears as soon as the question is answered. This feature can be used to direct respondents or give them more information about a question or individual response while taking the survey.

View feedback
Feedback appears differently depending on whether the question is in a quiz, survey, or self assessment.
Quizzes
In order to have the feedback appear to students, you must choose to release the questions to students on the Submission Views tab when setting up your quiz. After the student submits the quiz and it is marked as graded, the feedback will be visible on the Submissions page of the quiz. See Releasing quiz answers to students for more information.
For Quizzes, feedback entered in the box at the bottom of the New Question or Edit Question page will appear above any feedback for individual responses, regardless of whether the student answered correctly or incorrectly. Make sure this feedback is appropriate for both correct and incorrect answers.
Self Assessments
It is important to set feedback for questions on Self Assessments because self assessments can't be submitted or graded. Feedback for individual responses will appear immediately to students in a word balloon after they select a response that contains feedback.
Students can view overall feedback for each question by clicking the Check my answer below the question during their self assessment.
Surveys
The feedback word balloon and a View Feedback for Question # link will only appear during a survey if give instant feedback is enabled in the Properties tab for that survey.
Students can view feedback for each question by clicking on View feedback for question # below the question during their survey.
