Enable lecture recording features for students

Search using keywords

Students can use the search function to filter for key terms from the recording, whether it is in the captions, slides, or in their own bookmarks. This allows students to locate all the time stamps for when the term was mentioned and to navigate to those timestamps easily by clicking on the caption. Students can search across recordings in a course or within specific recordings.

This feature is disabled by default. To enable/disable search across the different indexes, click on tools and then the Course settings tab and scroll to the section called LRS Modules. Here you have the option to uncheck/check: Enable Search and Indexing of Text/Slide.

Add bookmarks within recordings

Students can use the Bookmarks feature in the Lecture Recordings tab to bookmark an area/time in a recording that they would like to save or revisit. It enables the student to jump to specific times within the recording. In addition, students can add a note to the bookmark using the text box. These bookmarks are private and only visible to the student.

This feature is disabled by default. To enable/disable bookmarks, click on tools and then the Course settings tab and scroll to the section called LRS Modules. Here you have the option to uncheck/check: Bookmarks.

  1. Select a time in the video you would like to bookmark and click on the Bookmark icon found under the video.

  2. Enter a comment/note in the text box and click the Send icon to save the bookmark.

  3. You can further attach tags to manage bookmarks. See Manage bookmarks.
