Assess assignments in myCourses

You can access the Evaluate submission page of an assignment for each student to view submissions, enter grades and feedback, and attach annotated files for your students to download from the View feedback page.

Access the evaluate submission page

The Evaluate submission page for an assignment allows you to assess students' work and/or view their submission(s).

  1. On the main Assignments page, click the name of an assignment.

  2. On the Submissions page, you will only see the names of students who have submitted a file through myCourses. If you want to assess students' work even if they haven't submitted their assignments:

    1. Expand the Hide search options menu.

    2. Select Show everyone from the Submissions drop-down list.

    3. Click the magnifying glass icon to perform a blank search and show all students.

If no students have submitted an assignment, this filter will always reset and show 20 students per page. As a workaround, use the role switch to submit an assignment under your own name and set the filter to a higher number.

  3. Click Evaluate on the right side of the page beside a student’s name.

  • If you already saved or published feedback for a student, the Evaluate link will appear as Draft Saved or Published. You can click on either of these links to return to the Evaluate Submission page for the student.

  • If you are using anonymous marking, students’ names will not appear.
