Release conditions in myCourses

Release conditions can be used to restrict students' access to content until specific conditions are met. For example, you can grant access to course materials only after you give a certain lecture, after students read the course outline, or after students submit a specific assignment. You can also create release conditions that:

  • Restrict content to a specific group in the class.

  • Require students to read the course course outline before accessing an assignment.

  • Release content in stages such that students cannot see the Week 2 Content module until they have taken the Week 1 Quiz and achieved a minimum score.

In this article:

To hide or release items at a specific date and time, see Hide and release content in myCoursesor Use the manage dates tool in myCourses.

Set release conditions

When you edit an activity such as a quiz or assignment, release conditions can be set in the Restrictions tab in the Release conditions section. Select Create and attach to create a new condition or Attach existing to link an existing condition.
