Enable live transcription in Zoom
You can use the Live Transcription feature in Zoom to add automatic captions to any session you host.
Enable live transcription in Zoom
Sign in at mcgill.zoom.us and select Settings from the left-hand menu.
Select In Meeting (Advanced) or scroll down to this section.
Select the slider button to enable Closed captioning and select the box for live transcription.
Select the slider button to enable Save Captions to allow students to save captions or transcripts.

Use live transcription in sessions
When live transcription is enabled, you can activate automatic captions in your sessions. To start captions:
Select Live Transcript on the Zoom toolbar. An options window will appear.

2. Select Enable Auto-Transcription. Once transcription has started, additional options to view the transcript or hide the captioning will be visible to students when they select Live Transcript on their Zoom toolbar.
